Ashley Bennett ’17
Theology & Catechetics
Ashley Bennett is the director of School Ministry at Conwell-Egan Catholic High School. She coordinates sacramental ministries, including Masses and school retreats, builds community within the student body, and teaches theology classes to freshmen.
She has co-developed a school-wide prayer, assisted in developing a tutoring program for high school students to tutor students at grade schools, and established a scholarship fund to assist less fortunate students to go on Kairos, a retreat for seniors. She also frequently brings in guest speakers to talk to students about their faith, vocations, and how to be a Catholic in the world today.
Bennett had an internship with a youth minister at her home parish after her junior year at Franciscan and was president of Household Council her senior year. Through these opportunities, she gained practice organizing events and practicing relational ministry. She also volunteered on the production crew for the EWTN show Franciscan University Presents, and in the process, she met many theologians, including her now employer, Archbishop Charles Chaput, OFM.
