MA in Theological Studies Program

Franciscan University of Steubenville

MA Theological Studies Program Overview

If you’re ready to apply what you’ve already learned as a theology or a philosophy major and demonstrate mastery of the Church’s teaching, our 36-credit Master of Arts in Theological Studies (MATS) provides excellent preparation for careers both in the Church and professional world.

You’ll learn from noted experts and authors such as Dr. Scott Hahn, Dr. John Bergsma, Dr. Michael Waldstein, and more, developing excellent written and verbal communication skills that will allow you to proclaim and witness the Gospel with clarity, conviction, and intelligence.

Plus, as with all of our on-campus theology degrees, you’ll have the opportunity to pursue a catechetics specialization and canon law track—giving you the necessary expertise to reach God’s people in the unique way he’s called you!

MA Theology & Christian Ministry

The MA program provides students with a solid, graduate-level foundation in Catholic theology that will enable them to serve effectively in a variety of fields of ministry, or to pursue further graduate studies in theology.
